光景[kōkei]

The variety of things we see in our lives includes what we want to see and what we want to look away from. Even on the seemingly quiet riverside, an unsettling sight may appear, if the time axis is shifted. If you turn around from looking at what you see in front of you, something completely different may appear. What Kosuke is exploring with these works is to gain a different perspective and to show us, the viewer, everything we need to face. And it's not always just a "comfortable" scene.

Such a meaning is included in the Japanese word "kōkei” that he uses.
