Fragile Sense of Comfort
This work brings together the elements of human, bicycle, inner self, and space—not as separate motifs or mere composition, but as resonant aspects of one unified presence.
Beyond vertical or horizontal, front or back, they overlap and bleed into each other on paper. It is at once a “figure seen from behind,” a “portrait,” a “moving body,” an “inner emotion,” and even the “air that surrounds it.”
The translucency of washi and the flow of ink blur any fixed contour, creating a state in which every side could be the “front.”
In this openness, the presence expands and freely intersects with the viewer’s own inner landscape.
Fragile Sense of Comfort — a feeling in which fragility itself, rather than weakness, opens the heart and creates connection.
I hope this piece resonates with your own inner scenery.
